I have been fortunate to be able to get ahold of a few birth year pipes from Peterson and Dunhill so I really have no year in mind but I'd love an Oom Paul, sandblasted with a beautiful ring grain left natural with a green cumberland stem
@PipeProfessor It depends on who you ask. Some think Dunhills are overrated, yet they've had staying power for a reason. I don't own one, so I can't speak from experience. Dunny's are out of my usual pipe price range, but I think a birth year Dunhill would be nice to have if I only bought one.
@pipeprofessor Yeah, I hear tales of people getting lucky and finding them at antique stores and get a bit jealous. My wife hates antique stores, so I hardly ever get a chance to search them like I want to. I could go by myself, but it's not as fun.
I'm a simple man (minded that is) a slight bent Bulldog with a smooth finish.I believe that Savinellie has one I like, but alas a little outside my budget at the moment.
The more I think about it and have been talking with those on this forum I think I have to change my dream pipe and agree with several others... Gourd calabash
My Dream Pipe would be something that is of dark color. Personally engraved and can have a moderately sized bowl. I would hope, I could clench it in my teeth but also have a bent stem to keep the bowl pointed away from my face. A wind blocking topper connected so I could smoke it while fishing. Lastly, a tamper with a matching engraving and color.
Right now I'm looking for someone who could make me a prince pipe that pays homage to Prince with a love symbol tamp. I've been wanting that since he passed away. Just been waiting till I could afford to commission it from someone.
A 1941 Birth Year Peterson. WW II blocked Briar import so few briars were made, they made all Morta pipes as hard rubber was also unavailable. Some few out there have the Uncial style Z on their Silver bands.(See Hallmarking Chart)
I saw another Nording Harmony pipe that would not only look good alongside my other Nording Harmony in my collection but also fit my personality as a musician.
@motie2 No it's not actually painted. I'm not sure what process was used. Looks more like some form of decoupage ... although I can't be sure. I was trying to get some information on the finish from the Nording webpage but didn't see anything of value. I simply wanted to know how to clean, polish, and maintain it without doing any damage to the finish. It's a beautiful pipe - but a bit of a mystery to me.

Also wouldn't mind owning a pre-WW2 Peterson. Just a pipe that has seen a lot of history.
A: I don't have leniency in the budget.
B: It just is not the right one (shape/ imperfections/ color)
Anything bamboo carved by Sixten Ivarsson, but a bamboo Peewit would be ideal.
Second choice would be anything I could acquire, carved by Jorn Micke.
