What's your best smoking and best looking hand crafted pipe? I'm not talking about mass productions, but those that are carved by hand by independent pipe makers?
I actually forgot until going through my pipe list, I do have a handmade. I have a Boswell I was able to find as an estate. I have not had a chance to smoke it yet though. But I love the way it looks and feels.
I know at least 3 independent makers who are closing up shop because of the FDA regulations....it's a sad thing that they cant make masterpieces anymore!
@judandhispipe what is the pipe made from, I'm guessing that since its a Rare Wood series, its not briar? I've got a few that I made from Mesquite that turned out pretty well. And the wood looks similar.
@judandhispipe very nice. I like to think about, that in today's disposable society where we throw everything away. There are some things that have been around for 100 years +
@pipeman83 - They gave each of us a bag with small packets of different pure tobacco in it and a talk on how to blend. It was interesting and gave us all the opportunity to taste each of the tobaccos straight. I like Perique, but it's not one I would want to smoke just by itself.
@PappyJoe, I saw that , I would like to do that, it was interesting to hear how much Mark Ryan spent to purchase and rebuild that property, but I'm sure he has a great ROI.
This is a morta pipe I had made by Chris Askwith. I asked him to make his interpretation of two of my favorite pipes, my Savinelli 642 and Dunhill CK. The pipe turned out great and I couldn't be happier with it.
