I'm visiting Beijing this summer. Is anyone familiar with the smoking laws in China? Also are there any tobacco (pipe) shops in Beijing? Also can I bring a open tin of tobacco to china? Thanks
I would think that there are definitely some high end pipe & tobacco establishments, given the various comments here and on other forums about the Chinese buying up the hard to get tobaccos and pipes.
@Rofo6672 Wondering if you've returned from China, and if so how was your vacation. Also curious to know the pipe smoking status you were concerned about.
I know China and North Korea are two completely different animals, but after the seeing what happened to the young man who was arrested for supposedly stealing a poster in North Korea and eventually returned home in a brain-dead coma (only to die a few days later), well for a person unfamiliar with the customs and laws of a Communist Country I'd be afraid I might inadvertently commit some crime that would forever change my life as a result of doing something lawful and commonplace at home. I see a lot of people walking around China wearing facemasks, leading me to believe if pollution is s bad there might be stringent laws against smoking in public places. God forbid you pull out your pipe and the next thing you know you're imprisoned for life.
