Aromatic Smokers - What's The Best Apple Flavored Tobacco Blend?

Although my preference for aromatic blends is on the sweet side with flavors like vanilla, chocolate or cocoa, maple, molasses, caramel, and honey; I have also added a variety of fruit flavored tobaccos to my rotation - with some come pretty damn close to capturing the actual fruit flavor the tobacco is intended to taste like. But I've yet to discover a satisfying flavorful apple blend that not only captures the aroma of a freshly baked apple pie, but one that taste like it as well. Sutliff has been my go-to source for bulk aromatic blends, and although their Apple Blend is an enjoyable smoke I can't detect a hint of apple in the bowl or room note. Any recommendations.

You might look into three McClelland blends: McClelland M96 Mellow Apple, McClelland M97 Crisp Apple, and  McClelland M98 Fresh Apple, all available at Pipes and Cigars.

I've tried several of the new hard ciders with a pipeful. I favor Cidre by Stella Artois.

Actually I drink a lot of hot apple cider when pipe smoking, but usually only do so when smoking something like Carter Hall, Velvet, or the MATCH blend I have for Edgeworth Ready Rubbed - none of which are excessively sweet blends like vanilla, chocolate, or maple. Flavors like that would clash with the apple cinder, and image they'd do the same with a glass of Apple Jack. But a glass of Apple Jack is not a bad idea.

@ghostsofpompeii Not to get off topic but where do you get your MATCH blend of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed? I have been looking and the only place I have seen is P&C with their Lane Limited but I don't want to buy a 14 oz tub to try it? Does anyone else sell it in bulk by the ounce?

While it's very mellow with just subtle notes of Apple (so if you are looking for a strictly Apple flavor ignore this) I would pick up some Apple Strudel by Boswells. I've been really enjoying that blend.

cwpipes9 I believe I read that Pipes & Cigars was offering pouches of Lane RR, but they were out. That was a month or so back.

@piperdave I got my Match Blend of Edgeworth Ready Rubbed from Pipes And Cigars (P&C). Click on bulk blends and scroll down to MATCH blends and you'll find it offered for $3.25 an ounce for 1 - 3 ounces.

I picked up McClelland Crisp Apple a while back...very apply...ghosted a pipe terribly.  I ended up mixing it with some Sutliff Cinnamon Delight, which was all that cinnamony.  Jury's out on the the concoction, but at least it toned down the apple flavor.

As to the OP, i haven't tried any of the apple ones yet, so I can't say. However, Stanwell Melange really does taste like dried apricots, if you're looking for an apricot blend

Apples and cherries, I like to eat or drink (apple juice) but don't like smoke.

I recently tried my first cherry tobacco....or fruity tobacco of any kind....and I can't say it's something I would buy again. But a really good apple pie tobacco would be something I'd give a whirl.

It is my impression that many  Christmas blends have the cinnamon/apple pie flavor/room note.

I'll check into it, @motie2  The thread on a new Christmas blend has me interested in something seasonal.

@motie2 Not to be a contrarian but the most favorite of the Christmas blends was McClelland's Christmas Cheer which was a straight Virginia. Other Christmas or Holiday blends mostly have cocoa, vanilla, alcohol, orange or cherry. The only Christmas Blend I can think of was I think the Peterson Christmas blend from around 2009 or 2010.  

@Bloodhound61 - Hearth & Home (Pipes & Cigars house brand) has a Caramel Apple Pie in bulk you may want to try. Cornell & Diehl does a Halloween blend called Monster Mixture III which is supposed to be Candy Apple flavored.

@motie2 - It's just that I like the Christmas seasonal blends. When I first discovered them about 15 years ago, I was only buying one tin a year. When all the FDA garbage started, I decided it would be smart to buy multiple tins of each.

I have from time to time smoked Russ Apple Fritter when in stock, not sure it had a real strong Apple flavor to it, but not a bad blend.
