anybody tried Mr. Brog pipes?

I was browsing pipes today and stumbled on Mr. Brog pipes which are apparently made from pearwood.  Has anybody smoked a Brog pipe?  Also I am wondering how long they would last, some of the reviews I saw stated the pipes tended to burn hotter than briar...
