State taxes

Some states are jumping the gun on taxes and once one group of "Slavering Weasels" does something to screw the public. they'll all jump on the Bloodsucker Train.(You think I might be a tad upset about things?) My friend in PA now has to pay an extra $8.80 per pound plus sales tax. A friend in New York got an order from a friend in the EU marked tobacco and NY State/City taxes of $60.00 on it before it could be delivered. Washington State bans any tobacco shipment from outside the state so they can bleed their citizens. (I wonder if they ban any import of Wonder Wacky Weed being that they allow the use of it?)
What are your states pulling taxwise?

Taxes will be going up and mail order may go away but I'd be more worried about your employer and their health care provider and your wife taking away your freedom to smoke before I'd be worried about being taxed to quit.
Well, I've seen people let go from a job due to higher insurance rates for smokers, and some employers wont hire smokers for the same reason. I guess I'm lucky that I'm retired. The anti-smoking ads are starting to take on Hookah smoking saying that an hour smoking a Hookah is the equivalent of 10 cigarettes.
All these States and Nations that draw high revenues from tobacco, have they figured where to get the money when it stops?
Oh well. Happy Thanksgiving, we haven't been outlawed yet.
Now the state has revenue from income taxes, casinos, lotteries, a sales tax, and absurdly high tobacco and gasoline taxes. Despite this windfall, the government is constantly cutting programs and services while obnoxiously whining about how broke they are.
LOL Pappy Joe, I do forget that Louisiana has tried to give Chicago a run for it's money in the area of corruption. I believe we have had 5 Governor's go to jail so far, but remember we tobacco users are bad and need to be punished. I do have fond memories of bringing groups down to New Orleans to help rebuild after Katrina. We would put new stuff into house's one day and find it stolen the next, some of my volunteers would freak, me being from Chicago made me feel like life was more normal. LOL
LOL
It's great that we can laugh at things like this, all public projects in NJ is subject to a "Mob" tax.
