Great article, still wish we knew who made the very first pipe and how the very first pipe was made.  The Native American Indians used stones and clay.

I have seven MMs. The Shire, The Elf and 5 Legends. I always keep two of the Legends in my truck just in case I forget to grab my pipe bag.

I love reading about this company.  I only smoke MM cobs and currently have 15 of them in my rotation!  I keep a dedicated legend style pipe for my codger blends (one pipe each for Prince Albert, Granger, Velvet, and Sir Walter) Then I have bent stems for aromatics and straight stems for my non-aromatics.  My personal favorite style is the country gentleman but the Mark Twain is great as well.  My family has smoked MM cobs for generations (my family is originally from MO) I hope they do reach into the past for styles that are no longer around and bring them back, I'm always ready to try a new cob!

Had one MM years ago, kept it in my tool box, got crushed, did not replace it until recently. Now I have four, I am very fond of the little stubby version of the Devil Anse, good size to stick in a shirt pocket. Drove back from the West several weeks ago, planned to do the tour of MM, delayed by snow in CO, timing was off, will make a trip back to do so. An important part of pipe history.
