Anyone near Straus Tobacco in Florence or Cincinnati?

I've heard some interesting things about a couple of blends at Straus Tobacconists in Florence, KY and Cincinnati, OH. I can't find an online presence for them which would allow ordering. 

Any members up in that area?

@pappyjoe I just saw your post while going through some of the discussions. I live just north of Straus around Cincinnati. That I know of the shop manager in Florence KY, Matt keeps a Facebook page up to date with what is going on. @piperdave - I saw something about one of their seasonal blends that sounded interesting. I think it was called Frankenstein or something like that but couldn't find where I read it again. I did see a good review on their Sleepy Hollow blend and I'm curious about it too.

@PappyJoe I can check the Florence, Ky. store for you, I was just there last week and will be back up there next week.  I an just South of them.

@pappyjoe I know they have had the blends  "Sleepy Hollow" and "Wenceslas" offered in the past, I have not heard of a "Frankenstein" but there is a possibility. I do know they posted this below on this their facebook feed about the first 2 blends:

 "there are no guarantees we will be able to offer these after the August 8th FDA DEADLINE, we are releasing our great blends "Sleepy Hollow" and "Wenceslas" now (July 29th)! Sure to sell out quickly, grab this while you can. Happy Halloween! Merry Christmas from Straus!"

When @wolf41035 stops by maybe he can find out if they still have the blends available or not. IF I go before I will be more than happy to see what I can find out and maybe get some details about ordering for you. Might even be able to get some for you to try. Shhhhhhhh. LOL

I will be going up there Tuesday so I will let you know Wednesday or Thursday depending on how my two appointments go Tuesday and Wednesday.  I might buy some as well, you know I would share......just don't tell the f d a or they will take it all away.

@PappyJoe Sorry I didn't get to stop and ask about the blend you are looking for, I had an injection between my shoulders into my spine for neck problems and it didn't go to good, had a bad day, also was in Hospital and have to have other tests run so if all goes well I will feel better and try to go back up to straus next week and see what I can find out.

No hurry. I've found out I can just call and order what I want. Problem is I don't know what all they have as house blends.

Well this week I am full up with Medical appointments all South of me so I will not be able to head up there which stinks because I was hoping to pick up an Opus X Cigar, anyway next week I only have one Medical Test going on (All darn day) so that might be my best chance to head North!

@PappyJoe, Sorry I haven't been able to stop up there for you yet, been going through all kinds of issues, been to more specialists and have five appointments this coming week.  On top of all that my 78 year old father bought a BMW motorcycle a couple weeks ago and wrecked it this past week, he was banged up bad and has 4 broken ribs, so me being in the shape I am in (Disabled) with the help of my nephew, have been trying to do the farm work around here.....that is like the dead trying to teach a baby, my nephew has no clue how to do much and I am in so bad of shape I can hardly do anything.   I am guessing he will be down for about 8 weeks or more and I am not sure how long I will last so I have to hurry and teach my nephew and my daughters boyfriend (Future Son In Law) How to do everything in very little time. 
 
GOD PLEASE HELP ME....

@wolf41035 Man brother I pray things improve for you and everyone catches on quick. @pappyjoe I have stopped by and spoke with Matt at Struas over in Florence. He said that they have both Sleepy Hollow (Halloween blend) as well as Wencesclas (Christmas blend). Both are aro's the house blends range from English to Aro and a few in-between. I do like a balken blend they have called Blue Chip (good). The majority of blends are named from everything around the local area like Buttermilk Pike and Anderson Ferry Cherry. To be honest they are all pretty good to try. Shoot me a message and I can give you info  if needed.

Saw this post and it made me remember that Strauss is the place for Sleepy Hollow pipe tobacco - and I think since it's a seasonal blend it should be on the market right now or very soon. I'm hoping to finally get some this year. They don't make it easy for people out of State because they don't have a website where they sell it. I ended up making a phone call to the place last year and by then it was too late. Glad I was going through the archive and found this ... now maybe I'll be in time to actually get a few ounces.

@Motie2 I think the fact that Sleepy Hollow is not as easily accessible as brands found at P&C and Smokingpipes.com has made it sort of a challenge to me. The blend that got away.
