@Corey562 Gorgeous pipes! I personally can't imagine doing artistic woodworking...coming from a drywall background, I'm more of a "framer" than a "carpenter", that said, I did once make a bong from bamboo, but my mother smashed it when she found it...my first and last time in "pipe making"!
@vtgrad2003 thank you it take a little patience to get them to look right. I personally work as a consultant for a engineering firm but I have been working with wood since the early 90 be it making furniture or building bouses and bird houses. Only been making pipes for around 6 yrs in guess
Wow, only 6 years? I can build some pretty nice decks and pergola's, but that's about it, LOL. My motto has always been, if it needs more than a Skilsaw (or chainsaw for that matter), I ain't touchin' it ! I wish I had your talent...much less, patience.
@Corey562 I love the shape and grain on that pick axe…..but the carving ruined it for me. You matched the grain flow nicely and I like the color pallet as well. The carving is well executed, don’t get me wrong, it’s still a beautiful pipe, well done.
@RockyMountainBriar I hear you this is one someone commissioned and when it got finished he backed out for some reason or another I usually do not make pick axe thought about smoothing it out and refinishing it myself .figured I would see if it sold as is first.

By the way, I love how you carved the stem, the end piece where it meets the mouth piece, looks way cool 👍

@Zouave thank you
I'm running out of adjectives due to my limited vocabulary and intellect, but I got to say I admire your work!
I really like all of them, especially the first pictured!
Sorry, I’ve exhausted my supply of superlatives.
Well done!
