Polishing Acrylic Stems

I notice that when I am restoring my estate pipes and accidentally get a drop of alcohol on the stems it "dulls" them in that spot. What are your at-home remedies for returning the luster?

I searched the forum, so if this has already been answered just point me there.

So, I've tried oil/wax and it just doesn't seem to buff to luster. Any thoughts out there?

I've only used buffing compounds Tripoli then white diamond compounds and finished it off with wax.  All on buffing wheels.
