Balkan Sasieni

Any other fans of this fine STG owned blend? It's a good Balkan that, IMO, is closer to the Balkan Sobranie of the early 1970s than the current rendition of that blend.

I think I'll have to try this. I'm slowly getting into the Balkan and Lat blends more now that it's not 100 plus outside.

I'm a "latakia all year round" guy, @drac2485. I do admit that I am not a "lat bomb" sort of guy; I don't  want 70% lat. In the summer I am less apt to be reaching for the fuller blends, but I always end my day with a lat blend.

I've always enjoyed this blend, I have 5 tins cellared and 1 open from the 10 I had, I'm waiting for it to be on sale again somewhere. Another forum I belong to we alert our members to sales in various sites.

I did, indeed, get another tin opened, and am enjoying it, just like I always do. Definitely a winner.

I’m primarily an aromatic fan, but when I crave a hint of the old BSOSM, I reach for Balkan Sasieni or H&H White Knight. Neither ONE is BSOSM, but they come close and are satisfying in their own way.

I am definitely a fan of the Sasieni. One of my favorite blends. Haven’t tried the Peterson Balkan blend yet. It’s cellared in one of many boxes I have stashed.

Right now I'm fixated on G&H Balkan Mixture but I have a couple of tins of Sasieni cellared and will pull out one next.

Balkan Sobranie and Balkan Sasieni are not the same blend, although Balkan Sasieni is considered a successor to Balkan Sobranie. Balkan Sobranie was known for its exclusive use of Yenidje tobacco, which Balkan Sasieni does not use

Balkan Sasieni is one of the few English style blends I really love . English Oriental Supreme is excellent and was the biggest seller of English I  had in my shop back in the day . Man , its exceptional . Sasieni is just right and touches all the bases for me . My wife likes an English and its her favorite blend , if you can believe that . She doesnt smoke very often but when she does its either Sasieni , Dunhill Flake or Creme Brulee . She has good taste

Balkan Sasieni is the only English blend I keep on hand, being an aromatic smoker. It isn’t Balkan Sobranie, but it’s a good smoke.
