Once again, on Canadians The Canadian pipe shape has a long oval shaped shank or stummel with a billiard bowl and a tapered bit. A Canadian's shank will be about twice as long as the height of the bowl. Round shank variations are called lovats and liverpools. There is also a variation with an oval shank called a lumberman.
@KA9FFJ I have thought about it but I dont make very many straight pipe I only have a few that I even smoke my favorite is a black roots pipe I smoke it more than the others I have.
You know what @Corey562 it's a smart man that knows what he's best at and knows his limitations. You are far too good and should feel so proud of your designs that there's no need to pursue any thing else unless you want to. By the way, be thinking of anything you might want to send me (pics, etc.) that might help your cause at the St. Louis Pipe Show.
And, I might add, that's a really good looking pipe you have there. Question, do you have a regular pipe rotation, or do you usually grab whatever the mood dictates
@KA9FFJ out of all the pipes I have I use them all " except the ones for sale of course". I tried a rotation but usually I just let the mood dictate I do have a few that see more use as they are shop pipes.
@Corey562 I can relate. I have, what I call, a very loose rotation. I usually let other pipes slip out of order whenever the mood strikes me (which can be quite often). Some guys are really regimented and stick to a strict rotation. My hat is off to them, but I, like yourself, am more of a "what do I feel like today" kinda guy...
I try to rotate my pipes in 7 day groups but I as often pull others out to smoke during the week so the rotation often takes up to 2 weeks to complete. Aside for some pipes that are oddities all my other pipes are smokers. I do have go to pipes and old favorites.
I rotate my pipes sometimes. Yep, every now and then whichever pipe I'm smoking, I give it a good spin on the desk and watch it rotate.
No seriously, I use to have a rotation when I had just seven pipes but as my collection grew, the rotation sort of went to the wayside. I have favorite smokers that I sometimes smoke daily but then there are times I will rotate a pipe depending on what I'm smoking.
