Secret Santa?

Christmas is a few months away, but I wanted to get every ones thoughts on doing a secret Santa exchange within the group. Are you for it or against it? What should the ground rules be?

 We could do one. I think  there should be a pretty reasonable price ceiling, to allow as many people as possible a chance to participate. $25 would be reasonable.

Thanks for the quick feedback @judandhispipe and @drac2485. I too think it would be something fun and agree about setting a low price ceiling. I know that we all have families and bills to pay, so I wanted to talk about possibly planning this early and give people time to save some extra cash as well as organize and find out what your match enjoys.

@pipeprofessor I like planning ahead for similar reasons.  Not that I think the $25 price is bad but one thing to consider is we will all have to ship it as well, I don't remember the last time I actually mailed something, and I think that should be taken into account as well.

@drac2485 - I actually trim my beard every summer and then just let it grown until New Years. I do it for the grandkids even though only two of them are young enough to think I'm really Santa. Last year, one of my sons took there kids Christmas shopping and they were walking by a mall Santa. The woman trying to get customers looked at Quinn, my grand daughter, pointed at Santa and asked her if she knew who it was? Quinn looked at her and said, "That's Pappy."

I think a secret Santa game would be awesome! I don't think our local club has done that, and it would be a lot of fun. I'll have to bring it up.

@NicoleSTGLaneLtd so I'm digging the elfster thing, however I'm a little confused at how this works. We're supposed to add things to our wishlist and someone will choose from that? Seems a little limiting. Can we add items that aren't on amazon?

@mhajec You can either choose things from their lists, paste in your own URL, or type in the name of something you'd like. Or just don't fill it out and leave it up to your secret santa.
