Excuses for your PAD

PAD often hits at the spur of a moment. What are your excuses you give to your wife or significant other as to why you just gotta have this new pipe when you already have a full rack?

"But this one is different because *insert neat little detail only a pipe nerd can appreciate*. And I still have room in my pipe racks!"

My wife will nod with a blank look on her face. Almost all my pipes look the same to her.

@thebadgerpipes, haha I know that look. To my wife, most of my blends all smell the same!

Since most of my pipes are ones we rescued from antique/collectible/junks shops and street fairs and she's the one that found them, I just suggest we take the weekend to go exploring.

Brand new pipes? I actually manage to stay satisfied with just getting pipes for Christmas, Father's Day, birthday and Anniversary gifts. In the past I have also told her not to get me a Father's Day and Anniversary present and just put that money back to buy me a special pipe for Christmas. 

It's all about controlling your impulses (and being able to win a pipe or two)

Being single my excuses are easy, unfortunately easy... Ooh that looks nice and that's a good price.  The excuses to not buy are your broke.

Lately all my excuses are due to the FDA rulings." I need this pipe honey, because of the FDA. I need this baccy because of the FDA. I need this pizza because FDA...."etc

@pipeprofessor My wife only has two categories for pipe blends. Ones that smell good, and ones that stink. She has it down to a science!
