@motie2 I agree that the dates he chose are suspicious as related to Christianity, yet I tend to take Tolkien at his word that there was no signifigance, but purely coincidental...🤔 I have read many articles where individuals try to put a Christianity spin concerning many events contained in his Hobbit/LOTR writings, but he continued to maintain that his creation was a non-Christian based world. However, between you, me and the fence post, I personally find it hard pressed for ANY individual to create worlds, peoples and ideas without, over time, not interjecting at least some ideologies here and there that reflect some portion(s) of their personal beliefs... I for one, try to simply enjoy his middle earth for what I believe it was intended to be; a fantasy world and the near constant battles of "good" and "evil"... A bit oversimplified I know, but that's me...🙂
