My New MacQueen Pipe.

I just recv'd this pipe as a gift and wanted to share some pics.  It came with a really classy display stand.   I've not smoked it yet but am looking forward to giving it a try.  It's by far the longest pipe I've ever owned.  I believe this style is called a Churchwarden?   Anyone else here have a MacQueen?

That is very unusual. What is it made of? I've never heard of the brand. Keep us posted on how it smokes.

@opipeman It is very unusual but very nice.  From what I can tell, the big draw to MacQueen is that the entire pipe, stem included, is all-wood.  I don't know what kind of wood mine is made of.  On their site some are listed as birch and some cherry.  They offer many shapes but all in the Churchwarden style. 

I just smoked my first bowl with it and enjoyed it a lot, but it was way different than my other pipes.  In my experience, the way a tobacco smells is never the same as how it tastes, but with this pipe the taste and the smell seem to be exactly the same.  Very unusual!  It also smokes very cool.  I like it a lot!

I have seen and heard of that brand, don't own one though.  Long stemmed pipes are call churchwardens. There are many stories you can read, even on this forum, on the history of the churchwarden, check it out. So, do you think you will be smoking it, keeping it, or will it be a novelty

@KA9FFJ Yes, there is some kind of rune on the stand.  Very classy!  If you look around their site you'll see all sorts of Tolkien and fantasy references.  Lots of nice designs. 

@l@Londy3 I will definitely be keeping it and smoking it often.  It's my first pipe in this style and something occurred to me yesterday while smoking it: when I smoke my other pipes I just clench them in my teeth and go about my other business (mowing, etc.), but with this style one actually has to sit down, hold the pipe in hand, and just smoke.  I like that and think it will make this piece great for relaxation.  There is a novelty aspect to it, and I'm sure I'll get a chuckle from anyone seeing me smoking it, but that won't stop me!

@TakeMeToTheShire I feel the same way about Churchwarden pipes. I love smoking them, and agree about the quality and coolness of the smoke. I just don't like looking like a lost wizard. I pretty much just use them while civil war reenacting.

I like my churchwarden, and its true it requires a total commitment, and it forces you to relax. Sometimes I need that.

WOW, really great looking churchwarden you have there.  I like it a lot. What kind is it?

It's a Neerup, made in Denmark. I bought it new on line and have gotten it about broke in. One of our Brothers put me on to the deal, might have been @Zouave, but I don't remember when. I think it was late last year. Our Brothers take care of us.
