Cob Cigar

I just saw this... http://corncobpipe.com/cob-cigar.html I saw Morgan's briar cigars in the past but the price tag was too high for the novelty if I didn't like it. I think I'll have to pick one up when I get the chance. I'm just curious as to how fireproof the chamber is with the tobacco burning sideways, I've seen enough cobs on fire

I like Chris and think he does good work, I too an skeptical about these however.

I have read good reviews about the briar cigars Chris sells. I just have a hard time putting out that kind of money. Just picked up a Chris Morgan Bones pipe as part of a lot of pipes.

ok I got one more for the novelty of having it I lit up a bowl of Lane 125th just yesterday and I will have to say it smokes ok its a bit odd lighting it and ash falls out of you dont hold it tipped up a bit. Finnish on the one I got was pretty rough but hey its cob lol

@abreathawayfromglory Thanks for sharing the info and picks.  I am very curious about this one.  I never had thought that the ash might just fall out.

@drac2485 Have you received your cob cigar as of yet? I am expecting one, yet not ETA on when it will arrive. Was wondering if you have had a chance at one yet.

@dstrib I have gotten it but have not had a chance to try and smoke it yet. The way the weather is going here at home it may be a while before I do

I bought one at the NASPC show last weekend, only smoked it once, it takes some getting used to because I never smoked one before so I'll keep trying so I can get used to it, I paid $19.00 for it.

Unless you also happen to smoke cigars and feel this presents you with the ability to smoke your favorite pipe tobacco blend cigar-style I really see little in the way of appeal for a pipe that resembles a cigar. I accidentally burned holes in clothing and furniture cushions just smoking a pipe which has the bowl pointed upwards - I can only imagine all the damage I'd do with a cigar pipe which only requires a casual look downward to result in a lap full of embers and hot ash in your crotch.

Yeah... I'm not a fan how how the cigar shaped pipes look, or their practicality. If I smoked one, I'd get pipe ash all over my keyboard and coat. As a pipe smoker, part of the appeal comes with the different shapes pipe bowls come in, and that does away with that aspect for me.
