Ronson Touch Tip Restore

So, Dad gave me his old Ronson Touch Tip desk lighter.
I have put a new flint in it, but I'm wanting to clean it up and I'm not sure how. Can anyone provide me some tips?

I'm no expert, but if that is silver / plated, there's an old trick I learned many years ago from a pipe refurber / repairer who has long been gone...
Cigarette ash...
He used it sparingly like rubbing compound with a paper towel (sometimes just his finger) on silver / silver-like shank bands and other metallic areas of pipes.
It doesn't hurt the briar at all, the metallic areas come out as shinny as they can be.
I don't know what the middle area of that lighter is, but the ash is a SUPER LOW abrasive...
High numbered micro pads might be another tryable solution.?.
Hope that helps a little, and gets you started on your project. Please show us your final when completed...
