@Balisong Thanks for the heads-up….that’s after payday for me, thankfully. It will be a crazy feeding frenzy. It will be interesting to see how fast the smooth finished pipes sell out, especially any naturals that may have been made. Probably around 10 naturals, maybe. I wonder if they made some in the new contrast sandblast like the Rua Spigots?
@Balisong Doesn't seem right that we don't get a fair shot at grabbing new pipes. Wow, a week ahead to pick and choose with no pressure. All the naturals will probably all be gone before they even hit the sites That first one (the natural) will probably be $300, probably a lot more. Especially the way the prices have skyrocketed lately.
@Balisong Yep, everything's going up. Now I am really glad I bought the Rua Spigot. I almost didn’t. I was waiting for the POY to drop. The 4AB is not one of my favorite shapes. I like the XL02 much better, especially if it is the round bottom as opposed to “flatish” bottom. Puzzling that they call both shapes an XL02. I really don’t like the terracotta or heritage finishes. I hate the rustics, and mostly dislike sandblasts unless they have remarkable ring grain. The contrast stained ring grain blasts are another story, they can trip my P.A.D. trigger sometimes…..Like some of the well grained Rua Spigots did.
@RockyMountainBriar My two "won't buy" finishes are the Heritage and Rusticated. The sandblasted has to have the right character. The 4AB looks like an oversized 313 or 160. Hopefully I don't fall in love with one of the Naturals! The sandblasted is 195.00.
The 309 is the same. I think the 338 might be a small version? Probably others too.
I could fall in love with a natural, but I would need to knock over a liquor store, a bodega and a jewelry store, maybe a bank too, at this point😬. New pipes, even Peterson’s “middle tier” pipes are now out of my price range. Inflation and a 15% pay cut last year has eaten away at my fun money. Now I need to just make the bills. Bad news today also. I had thought my mortgage refi a few years ago was a 15 year loan….nope, apparently it is a 20 year. Either I got screwed and missed it, or I just forgot. I had been thinking the numbers and pay-off date weren’t “adding up” for awhile now. Well, that’s why😖
$575.00 is over the top for me too! I got the Christmas pipe because it was just over $100.00, came with a leather stand and two ounces of tobacco. I meant to type 160 for the shape, the 313 is the system equivalent of the 338. I'm interested in seeing the specs, hopefully they sell out fast to stamp out the PAD!
@RockyMountainBriar@Balisong $575 is way past what I could ever afford or would ever spend on a pipe, but darn if that natural finished one ain't pretty. I'm hoping that the make a Jeremy Brett pipe someday. I probably wouldn't pass that one up.
im just going to go ahead and assume that British Heritage has never actually opened a Conan Doyal Book, let alone watched an episode of ANY Sherlock variation.....but hey, nice picture of "Nigel Bruce" with his Peterson. 🤦🏼♂️
@Zouave Are you interested in UK history? I am since I'm half Scot. If you are, have you ever watched a show called Time Team? (Not the American version, as always, the 'original' British version--the same with Top Gear, once the Americans 'invaded' the show, it started sucking so bad I couldn't watch it anymore.) It's a great show about a bunch of Archaeologists that go around digging up stuff. I just started watching it a couple of years ago when I first got my Firestick and am already watching episodes twice. I think they have about 20 seasons and hundreds of episodes. It really gained cult following status in the UK and Ireland when it was still on.
@vtgrad2003 Yep, UK Top Gear way better. I am amazed every time I watch the race at the Lillehammer, Norway bobsled run between the rally driver on ice and snow on a curvy mountain road and the bobsled…holy crap that guy can drive!

JimInks broke the news, the whole run is 500 pipes! These three belong to him, I have no idea what the price tag will be.
I read the article on chamfering the stems and found some bits on Amazon, I'm thinking about experimenting with a system pipe, thanks again!

Your estimate is a bit low.

Opps…the 106 is a straight billiard.

And the look on James May's face from the passenger seat when he was doing it!
