An Interesting Old Pipe

Last February I started helping a lady sell some of her father-in-laws pipes. In exchange she gave me my pick of three of them. I kept a Castello Sea Rock KKK and a Thomas Cristiano. None of the others really grabbed me but I kept holding on to this one for some reason. I finally pulled it out and decided to smoke it.
It's just an Algerian briar made in France, but I think I kept it because it's stamp "duTreil N. O. L. A." I did some research and one of the older New Orleans Pipe Club members remembered the shop. It was on Canal Street in New Orleans and went out of business around 1963.

Beautiful pipe, love the lines...
Saddle stem with round shank then Lovat.
If it had a tapered stem and a round shank then Liverpool.
I guess I should have taken a photo of the pipe without the soft bit on it and a couple of different angles.
It has an oval shank. It has a saddle stem but it also has a step-down bit or double comfort bit. (As I was cleaning the pipe, I found a small hole in the top of the bit and did a repair by basically heating the vulcanite and filling in the hole by using acrylic glue. I decided to put the softy bit on it to prevent any further damage.
That would make this a Lumberman.
I would go with Lumberman for @PappyJoe 's particular pipe.
