    In no particular order, and I’m fairly new to the game too.  Palate’s are different, your “mileage” will vary.

    Aromatics: Ratttay’s Exotic Passion, Dan Tobacco‘s Devil’s Holiday, C&D’s Espresso, STG Lane’s RLP-6, STG Lane’s BCA plus many more.

    English: nah-uh....nope....Latakia=nasty, not for me😖

    Pure Virginia: Samuel Gawith’s Black XX Rope, Newminster’s No. 400 Superior Navy Flake, Peter Stokkebye’s  Luxury Twist Flake (but only after some age on it), Samuel Gawith’s Full Virginia Flake, C&D’s Blockade Runner (better with some age on it).

    Pure Burley:  STG Lane’s Five Brothers, C&D Kelly’s Coin, C&D Crooner (Burley w/deertongue), C&D Dark Burley, Tabac Manil La Brumeuse (pure Semois).

    Va/Per:  Samuel Gawith’s Cabbie’s Mixture, C&D’s Orion’s Arrow, C&D’s Carolina Red Flake w/Perique, G.L. Pease’s Stonehenge Flake, Orlik’s Golden Sliced (but only after some age on it).
    I’ll add McClelland’s Beacon because I like it a lot, but it is no longer available (if you find some at a reasonable price let me know).

    Oriental/Turkish:  G.L. Pease’s Regent’s Flake, C&D’s Oriental Silk, D&R’s Ramback Regular, G.L. Pease’s Cairo, C&D’s Izmir Turkish.

    If you want to try some English/Balkan style tobaccos, I  started with Peterson Early Morning Pipe and Standard Mixture. If you like those and want to go further I would recommend G&H Balkan Mixture and Balkan Sasieni. Samuel Gawith Skiff and Squadron Leader are good choices but currently hard to find.

    For Viginia Flakes I used to swear by Dunhill (now Peterson) Flake but that hasn't impressed me recently. Dan Hamborger Veermaster is a favorite along with previously mentioned Newminster 400. John Aylesbury Sir John's Flake and Classic Flake are good. The Virginia Flake offerings from Fribourg & Trayer, Wessex and Astley's are worth a try.

    @buflosab

    You never responded: Which blend do you find the most vanilla-y?
    Vanilla Custard?   VBC?   Or LL-7?

    @motie2, My apologies, I would say definitely VBC, with Vanilla Custard a close but somewhat different flavor, LL-7 not to much of a Vanilla taste.

    At first it was Sutliff Black Cordial, Creme Brulee and the like then I started really enjoying Scotty's Blends especially Trout Stream and Butternut Burley, lately it has been the old cogger blends, Carter Hall and Half and Half. My tastes seem to change depending on the mood I am it at the time. I still love then all but I just tend to move away from some for a while and then come back later.
