R.I.P. - My Dad

This has really been a tough
couple of weeks for my family. First my 24 year old grandson passed away
unexpectedly on July 8th. Then one month to the day Dad is rushed to
the hospital with a stroke. He hung on for a day or two ... but last
night at 1:12 am he passed away. At least Dad lived to the ripe old age
of 96.
Dad enjoyed a cheap cigar ... the cheaper the better, so I'll be smoking an inexpensive OTC blend of tobacco (probably Carter Hall) in his honor tonight and would invite everyone to join me.

You have my condolences. I lost my father when he was 76. I wish I could have had an extra 20 years with him.
I would go to the nearest gas station and buy a cheap cigar to honor him.
My condolences to you and your family.
Somewhat like PappyJoe, my father passed when he was even younger at 62, I was only 25. My youngest sister was only 14, she has said that does not really even remember much about him. At least my mother is still keeping track of me🙂

When someone we loved, someone whose presence filled our lives, someone we thought would be with us forever.... is suddenly gone.... there can be no words. Not even passing of years will assuage our sense of loss. But if we meet loss with faith, loss can become something positive. Faith makes sense of loss, and memory begins to fill the hole in our lives once filled by our loved ones.
May your father be of blessed memory.
We are still praying for you.
