69 Years Ago Today A Pipe Smoker Was Born ... ME

69 is a pretty erotic number ... but not when it comes to your age. That's what I'll be celebrating today, my 69th birthday. DAMN, where did all the years go!
I seriously think the rotation of the planet is changing and a normal day is no longer 24 hours ... more like 16. And as for the weeks, months, and years ... they are moving by at warp speed. It seems like I just took the garbage cans to the curb to be picked up for collection on Monday morning and it seems like I'm doing it again a day or two later. A week goes by that fast. And here we are, just days away from July - nearly seven months into the year - a hair's breath from Halloween, then before you know it Christmas is here and another year has passed.
Is it just me or is time passing at an accelerated speed? And is it possible that aliens abducted me and I'm loosing time? The way life seems to be rushing by I feel as though I'll be announcing my 70th birthday before I push the button to post this message.

I’m in my 50s, but I still feel the acceleration of each year. I hear from my parents (and those their age) that life does indeed continues to accelerate with each passing year. I think I’m just going to hang on and enjoy the ride the best I can.
I think Moses understood this when he wrote... “Teach us to realize the brevity of life, so that we may grow in wisdom.” - Psalm 90:12 (Moses’ only psalm by the way).
Hope you’re having an amazing Birthday, Ghost!
@ghostsofpompeii
Hope you have a GREAT day!
Concerning time flying at an accrelerated speed, you are proving a part of Einstein's theory of relativity... 😉
When you are say 5 years old or so and on a road trip from Billings, MT. To Forsyth, MT (where my paternal grandmother lived), a 100 mile drive took all day.....I sure of it. Now the same trip at 55 years of age takes a much shorter amount of time....pretty sure of it🙂 At 5 years old, 2 hours out of your life is a “large” percent of your lifetime so 2 hours at 5 years old seems like forever, at 55 years old 2 hours out of your lifetime is about 10 times less of a percentage of your lifetime and hence perceived as a much shorter amount of time. So fellas, time just keeps moving faster......until it don’t.
May you live as long as you want to and want to as long as you live!
I fondly remember being 69..... And I join the others in wishing you a very happy birthday.
Forget about the past, you can't change it.
Forget about the future, you can't predict it.
Forget about the present, we didn't get you one.
@ghostsofpompeii, had a great day even though it went by pretty fast.
