Thanks to the generosity of my Secret Santa, I've stumbled into a fantastic -- but weird -- English Aromatic. Cornell and Diehl's Captain Bob's Blend (not to be confused with C&D's "Captain's Blend") It smells freakishly like grape soda..... I kid you not..... until you fire it up; then it smokes like a typical light Latakia blend with Virginia and Perique. I have no idea what the room note is like. But I truly love this blend. NOTE: online reviews warn that it will ghost a pipe. I hope so, as I find it delicious.....
I would not touch a grape tobacco, CB or otherwise, but this blend is terrific. It is most definitely NOT a grape flavored blend, despite how it reeeeeks of grape soda.
My favorite comment found in a review of Lane Crown Achievement at Tobaccoreviews.com
<< I tried to get this to bite one time. My wife was talking to me and I was very bored with whatever the hell she was saying. So I faked interest and puffed extreamly fast but no bite! Still not sure what she was talking about? >>
This tobacco gives me the same thoughts as Barbados Plantation did, back when I was smoking things like Molto Dolce, Maple Street, Vanilla Custard, VBC, BCA, RLP-6 etc. That is: "Why am I smoking anything else?" (Although, recently, I have been enjoying me some Balkan Sasieni, straight up.)

I don't recommend it, just wondering... 🤔

Another kitchen sink blend with Latakia.

Lane HGL (Lane RLP-6 plus a bit of Latakia) and Sutliff 504C Aromatic English
Close but no cigar: Lane HGL, Burma Road, Eastfarthing, Boswell’s Northwoods, Captain Bob's Blend, Sutliff 504C, Carey Revolution Tobac, Wilke Blend 515, Voodoo Queen, Count Pulaski, and Blockade Runner
The clear winner: C&D's Cross Eyed Cricket.
I write lousy reviews. So check these out:

I know, I know, that was a groaner...
My apologies...
How was the MM Independence Day blend?
