Haven't got my coupon yet, but that doesn't mean I'm not enjoying IPSD - already had two bowls to commemorate the occasion. The garage is cold but my spirit was warmed by the occasion. I imagined similar gents creeping into the warmest place in the house or garage to partake in a smoke to honor the occasion.
@ghostsofpompeii - I just left Charlotte which was in the 30s & rainy, but now I’m currently enjoying a bowl on my back porch (50s & sunny in OKC). #blessed
28 degrees and a snow storm on the way later tonight. Had to break out my designated wicked cold out pipe (an old rob roy that I smoke when it is too cold for my usual larger briars) had a bit of star of the east and then tried the nations capital blend from Russ' blends. Happy ipsd!
Celebrated like a Champ by smoking one bowl of 40 year old Niemeyer Irish Aromatic in my Nording Harmony pipe, one bowl of Boswell Christmas Cookie in my Big ben Fantasia pipe, one bowl of Cornell & Dehl Autum, Evening in a Peterson Dracula pipe, and finished it off with my only Latakia blend Captain Black Black Sea in my Peterson Jekyll & Hyde pipe. Since I'm normally an aromatic smoker I should have smoked the Latakia blend either first or somewhere in the middle.
@ghostsofpompeii You are braver than I when it comes to Latakia😖. I too have only one true Latakia, Lane “Crown Achievement”, and I think it is considered a mild Latakia.....bleck😝. I tried it once....once. The McClelland’s Royal Cajun is too similar to Latakia for me as well, I think it is a Dark Fired?
The New Orleans Pipe Club held its meeting last night (Feb. 21) at Mayan Imports Cigar and Pipe shop in Metairie, LA. In celebration of International Pipe Smoking Day 2019, the shop provided us with sample of Daughters & Ryan London Dock. We also received some H&H Balkan Blend from Sutliff for the club to review. I'll do write-ups on both over the weekend.
I was impressed enough with the London Dock to buy a tin last night.

(But there is an earlier folder on IPSD 2019 further down.....)
Any way you can grab a bowl today is a good way!
