Repurpose Tins?

Ok, I saved all my tins to do something cool with them, maybe for my ManSpace. So, if any of you are crafty, what do you do with your old tins?  I need ideas in on what to do with mine. Please share ideas and pictures.

I use an old round 1-Q tin to mix tobacco blends, a bowlful at a time.

I use my tins to organize little things, like paper clips, small bolts, etc...

I use my unusual or older tins as office decorations and duplicates as holders for small parts in the shop.

I recycle them. If I saved tins, my house would be overflowing. I might borrow the idea of using old Rattray's tins for some storage,though.

I typically toss mine. Unless they are unique tins. I kept my first tin of tobacco I ever bought, MacBaren 7 Seas Royal. I use it to mix small batches of blends in and transport it with me to work.

Survey: While recognizing that round tins reseal marginally better than rectangular tins, which do you like better, once they're empty? 

I like the rectangular ones (such as Erinmore Flake comes in). They fit neatly in the back pocket of my jeans. I'll carry a bowlful or two of a mix I come up with, mixed right there in the tin. That way, if it sucks, there's only a minor loss of tobacco, compared with mixing an ounce or several at home, such as one would do with a batch of Mrs. Hudson's.

@motie2 - I love the way the square tins look. I forgot that I have set aside a square tin (Capstan) to create a small fly (fishing) box. I figure all I need to do is cut to size a piece of foam and I should be in business. I’ve already done this to old Altoids tins.

I put one vote for rectangular tins. They fit my pocket better.

How about an alcohol stove made from a W.O. Larsen tin and a NUB cigar tube?  Time for a “Spot of Tea”?  I think so😀. Not the same as camping, but an indoor demo will have to do.

I have some I use for small screws and nuts. I have some I use to toss pocket change into at the end of the day. Using them as banks is something I started to save up money and give to grandkids to spend on Christmas presents. I didn't do that this year so now I have several tins filled with coins. I told the wife I'm saving my change to buy a special pipe.

I've also decorated the wall in my garage with old and newer tins. Another tin to collect.

I glued the lid of a tin onto the tin itself. Then I used a dremil to cut a slot in the side. Now I have a safe way to dispose of razor blades. 

Also tobacco tins work great for shaving soap.

There is a fine line between a hoarder and a collector ... and sometimes I fear I may have crossed the line. My CD music collection, DVDs and Blu-Ray movie library, movie memorabilia, books, pipes, and my tobacco cellar are a perfect example. And now I'm collecting tobacco tins. When I die I'm leaving quite a chore for my kids. Then again - I might be setting them up for life once they sell everything.
