I never understood it either.  Here in Montana...when smoking indoors was legal.....people/businesses (bars/casinos) also, usually did NOT permit cigar or pipe smoking.  Cigarettes were ok...At that time I was like WTF?  Cigarettes smell way worse than most cigars, and pipes.  Even though I did not smoke at that time, I still enjoyed the aroma of most pipe smoke (even though pipes were/are few and far between).

What a total bummer... I would have pointed out that there isn't a symbol of a pipe on the placard. HA HA.

I’ve never understood the rationale of these limits. The only thing I can think of is the amount of smoke generated, pipes and cigars produce way more smoke than coffin nails!!!!! Even though cigars and pipes smell way better.

That's a weird rule @Oddjob27 . It's funny, I was actually in Vegas for the first time last week and stayed in a casino, and man, there were cigars everywhere (not to mention pot, but that was outdoors, blech), but no pipes. I didn't bring my pipes with me, and I'm not a gambler, but if I had, believe me, I would've had a pipe with me.

I had an account at the Sands in Reno when I was young.  Great town.  I can't remember if they allowed pipes back in those days.

It's a lot easier to get an STD w/ a prostitute, too.  The STD regulars get accounts at the clinic if they are below age 55.  You can't get an STD from your pipe (oops).............well, I guess it is a possibility, eh.
