Smoking by candle light

Tonight, about dusk, a transformer blew in our neighborhood. Suddenly my plans for then evening changed. Since I could not use the computer, it was a golden opportunity to smoke a pipe. I carried a pipe, a candle stick, and some tobacco out to the garage. I did wander out to talk to our neighbors and they had called the power company. The power came back, a little after their estimate. I am really glad that I was not responsible to fix a transformer in the dark on a ladder! 

Obviously, the power is back now.

It was a great time. The only downside, I was typing a PM on another pipe forum, to buy a pipe, when the power went out. The pipe was sold when the power came back.

@Winton That's a bummer about the pipe. However, smoking by candlelight is a wonderful experience. I have a candle burning by my laptop when I smoke my pipe, and it adds the right kind of atmosphere for it.

@Winton Funny you should mention smoking by candle light ... that's pretty much the way I smoke my pipe each evening when I'm in the garage. I have lights - but I enjoy opening the garage doors for fresh air (and really love smoking with the doors open when it's raining) but in the evening the mosquitoes can be killer. So by keeping the lights off I don't attract mosquitoes. And the candle provides just enough light to see by. And since it's one of those Yankee scented candles it keeps the garage smelling like one of those Primitive Shops my wife enjoys shopping in. Happy wife - happy life. Sometimes I'll have the CD player going in the background ... while other times I sit in silence and enjoy the quiet solitude.

What a great idea. I've got a detached garage that I use in the afternoon after work and on nice days to have a bowl or two, but never at night and by candlelight.
