So. Today I was asked if I would be interested in working as a mall Santa Claus for a professional photographer.
Apparently they are looking for all their Santas to have real beards.

@PappyJoe, don't know how much they were offering, but the guys around here got $350/hour last Christmas season.

@jfreedy - That would be a big disqualifier. However, I've been told the Santas only work 4 hour shifts...

Having done it once two years ago for a club function with roughly 40 kids, I loved it, the kids were adorable.

That said however, doing it at a mall for four hours a day would probably scare me off. The kids at my experience were 7 years and younger.

Given today's culture and the fact you may encounter older kids with attitudes; that may test your patience.

But if your a real easy going guy and nothing gets under your skin, it may be a good fit.

If you decide to go for it, I wish you a great experience.

I worked with a guy who worked as a bad Santa at biker parties. He is famous and clubs will fly him in because he is the perfect short fat Santa with a huge nic stain yellow white beard and pure evil grin. You might enjoy this edition of This American Life.
