Ran across this one while scanning through eBay. I'm pretty sure that it's one pipe I'm NOT going to be buying.

Do you suppose they used up all of the little doo-dads the harddware store once had in the decoration of this pipe? Or, maybe it was decorated by a 12-year-old girl?

@AnantaAndroscoggin Kinda' looks like a mishmash of bits and pieces tossed together for a Steampunk Convention. I'm probably one of the only members here who would find it interesting enough to add to my collection. Almost ... but not enough. Some of the pieces don't seem to fit together properly. Sure wouldn't want to take it to my first Pipe Club meeting. I'm sure they'd kick me out.

It's an old German/Austrian Jager Pfeife. They're usually pretty well decorated but it looks like someone checked the box in all of the options for this one.

@Padraig is correct. I have 2 similar to that one in my collection.

I have one too, an old BBK that's not nearly as dressed up as the one pictured. They're near to look at and for Oktoberfest, but those horn seems with circular buttons aren't made for clenchers like me.

While I'm not a fan of just gluing gears onto a pipe, I'll admit I'm a fan of steampunk style pipes. It's a matter of taste, but as a fan of fantasy and all things Victorian, it goes with my aesthetics. A good example of this would be Nate King and his steampunk line of pipes.

@TaylorJDutton They're not cheap. I think I remember them going for around $800. However, you get what you pay for, as Nate is a master pipe carver with a unique style.

The small Renfest held in Hammond, LA every November has a booth that sells Steampunk "tobacco" Pipes made from copper and brass. (I put "tobacco" in quotes because I think their definition of tobacco and mine aren't necessarily the same.)

@TaylorJDutton Oh, I'd never be able to afford one myself, but I love seeing his new pipes. I was able to commission a pipe from him for graduating my Masters program, but it's nothing that extravagant.
