This past year I’ve really enjoyed restoring old estate pipes. After reading the e-book, Old Briar by Dave Whitney I caught the bug. In fact, Rick Newcobe refers to Dave in the updated forward of his book In Search of Pipe Dreams.  Dave goes into a lot of detail about restoring old pipes. He also sells restored pipes for very reasonable prices. Here is his eBay store.

I’ve purchased several pipes from Dave and he is a regular on several forums I frequent. 
A real fine fellow to deal with and very generous.

That’s great, @Benton. I’ve emailed him several times, and found him to be very knowledgeable and quick to share advice on how to properly restore old pipes. I’ve been impressed with not only his pipe acumen but even more with his willingness to help total strangers.
