Pipe Night in New Orleans report.
Actually, the Mayan Imports Pipe Night was held at one of the finest Italian restaurants in the New Orleans area, Andreas, in Metairie. Metairie is about 10 minutes from downtown New Orleans depending on the traffic. In addition to the staff of Mayan Imports being on hand with a wide selection of pipes priced 20% off, Steve Monjure or Monjure International was on hand representing Ardor, Rinaldo and two other pipe brands. The Long Smoke competition featured seven pipes as prizes as well as two Missouri Meerschaum corn cobs for the two who went out the earliest.
The New Orleans Pipe Club had 14 of its members in attendance and club members won 4 of the 7 prize pipes, including the top two. The winning time was 1 hr., 21 minutes. (I failed in my attempt to win 3 years in a row. I won the 7th place pipe with a time of 59 minutes this year.)
