Can anyone tell me what the possible date on this is? I’m just curious because I am so tempted to open it. It’s a can of Frog Morton Across The Pond.

In my opinion the number appears to be 401215 which in McClelland dating that would mean that tin is from 2015. Three years old, NICE!

Day/Month/Year format makes the 4 unlikely, IMHO

I have a tin of FM on the Bayou marked 442017, it was a gift so I don't know how long my friend had it before he sent it to me.

Across the Pond is a great find since it’s been out of production longer than the other Frog Mortons . I found two 100g tins last year and snagged them up. I’m saving one, but the one I opened is exquisite! I love the smoother Syrian Latakia.

@jfreedy I wish I could’ve gotten another one, but they had a one tin limit and I was the last person able to make a phone order with that particular tobacconist. The FMATP is amazing! So smooth.

Could it be that the first two numbers are the week of the year? Are there any with the first two digits higher than 52?

For McClelland the code stamp for the digits is:

1st	2nd	3rd	4th	5th	6th
BLEND		BATCH		YEAR AFTER 2000

On other tins they just have the year of Manufacture like 1999.

@Woodsman Your tin would be from 2017.
