While not immediately apparent I have noted that the Chinese knock off Czech tools are manufactured of a lower quality steel.

On several occasions I have used them for tasks they were no meant for {prying) and the knock offs were obviously softer.

I would also note that if overheated  the real ones  soften (anneal) significantly.
