Sutliff Blends

Gentlemen
Do any of you learned pipe tobacco experts know what year Sutliff Vanilla Custard and Sutliff Chocolate Mousse were put on the market? As you can guess, I am trying to determine whether or not those bends would be discontinued due to the Proposed New FDA Regulations, whenever they are enforced. I have not been able to determine these dates online.

I was worried about the same thing, which is why I'm waist deep in the stuff.

Quick research leads me to believe Vanilla Custard was produced as early as 2010 as the bulk version of Sutliff Private Stock Mountain Pass, in the same way that many feel Creme Brulee is the bulk version of Molto Dolce. Tobaccoreviews.com claims Mountain Pass is no longer produced, but http://www.smokerslot.com/index.php?route=product/product&path=72_310&product_id=663 claims to have it in stock, along with other hard Sutliff Private Stock blends, some sorta hard to find......

Either of those disappearing would break my heart. I am very reactionary and prepared, so I have 7 pounds of Vanilla Custard put away, and just ordered 3 more pounds of Chocolate Mousse today that will make 5 pounds.......you know, "just in case". You just never know.

There are Sutliff blends listed above that I've never heard of.... How about you @ghostsofpompeii?

@motie2 I clicked on the link and what I noticed was these tobaccos that might look unfamiliar are actually bulk tobacco we normally buy from P&C but they are in 1.5 ounce pouches. That's something I haven't seen before. Many of the names were familiar to me as bulk blends as I'm always scanning the Sutliff bulk blends on P&C. Funny they never offered the Sutliff blends in packages ... but then again why would I want to buy them that way when they cost more as pre-packaged than bulk.

The smokingpipes sale of Sutliff tins got me to buy Molto Dolce and Barbados Plantation, both of which are great. I'm a bit different, I think, from the typical (I think) smoker in that I like strong English and VaPer blends during the day and aromatics in the evening.

@mseddon That makes you a well rounded smoker. I wish I could be a little more like you but I've pretty much come to the conclusion that I'm not as enthralled with the taste of straight tobacco as I am heavily cased flavor toppings.To me a pipe is more of a dessert. But on the occasion I'm not trying to satisfy my sweet tooth I will try something like Captain Black "Black Sea" which has Latakia.

@mssedon -- Mid-1960's to mid-1980's I smoked English/Orientals and VaPers. Then abstinence until the summer of 2016, and after deciding quickly that my old strong tobaccos wasn't for me anymore I happened upon Sutliff Molto Dolce, Maple Street, and the rum blends. I still kinda wish my favorite -- Balkan Sobranie -- was still around so I could.... you know.... and see whether "Sutliff, where full, rich tobacco taste isn't the point," still has me. 

[Repeating myself..... a lot ...... a sign of incipient decrepitude.]

I'm a big Molto Dulce fan.  It was the first tobacco I ever smoked.  Got it as a free sample back when companies were allowed to do that.  It hooked me on pipe smoking.  I always keep a tin on hand sitting by my bed just because I like to open the tin and smell it.  Sound weird?  Who cares. I like what I like and you gotta know who you are.  I've since smoked Barbados Plantation (shout out to @motie2), Maple Street, and Taste of Summer.  But Molto Dulce is my favorite.  BP a close second.
