@motie2 Again, thanks for making these resources available. I've had relatively good luck buying estate pipes on eBay. I've picked up a few Nordings and a nice vintage Barling over the years. I also like to pick up cheap briars to hone my restoration skills. (I just purchased a Silverking Canadian briar for $5) I think the only thing I would add about eBay that wasn't covered in the .pdf is to be patient. I've been on the hunt for a 2009 Nording Hare for some time. For me, part of the eBay experience is the thrill of the hunt and finding the right pipe at the right price.
@motie2 seems you have become the group's resident librarian and caretaker of the archives. Thank you for all you do in research, archiving and sharing the information. It is very much appreciated.
All it took was two months of research, late summer of 2016, when I decided to take up the pipe again. (I appear to have a touch of obsessive behavior, neh?) Anyway, I hope this contributes in some small way, in the strengthening of the pipe smoking community, here at TPL and elsewhere.... everywhere.....
To all our TPL members: I've been telling newcomers that the Free .pdf Pipe Smoking Library ".....is on Page 12 of the Newcomers' discussion folder." What I'd like to do is keep this folder up in the rankings so newcomers and other interested parties can easily find it, peruse the available files, and leave their requests for me to post for downloading, right here in this same folder. And of course, an updated list including any recent acquisitions will be posted here. I'll also try to keep the library folder reasonably near the top, say in the first 10 to 20 discussion folders, using those <Place holding post to keep this folder near the top> posts that worked with the Newcomers folder until Milady Nicole got it pinned to the top. Any objections?
