  • @buflosab you should check out the thread "Music to Smoke Your Pipe to..."
  • I should have posted this video on the site you mentioned,I was really having a difficult time posting this video,I just was sort of experimenting and all of a sudden it worked ,decided to leave well enough alone.I saw this concert on a PBS station and this song stood out for me.I really liked the way the band was allowed to stretch out a bit.I have listened to this song hundreds of times and having the video makes it that much better.
  • Mark Knopfler does a lot of good pipe smoking music.
  • Yes he does.I like the fact that he has moved on from the style of Dire Straits and has gotten into a more roots style of music.Dont get me wrong I like Dire Straits, but looking at my music collection I see a lot of just Mark Knopfler. Speaking  of Dire Straits any veterans or anyone for that matter listen to Remembrance Day,it is quite a tribute to fallen soldiers.
  • @buflosab - I have Punish the Monkey as a ringtone on my phone. I also have a Spotify playlist with 36 of his songs - mostly from "Kill to get Crimson" and "Get Lucky" and "The Ragpicker's Dream"

Have you ever listened to any Jorma Kaukonen?

  • Thanks for the video motie, this guy is incredible. The sad part is I fell Mark hasn't gotten the credit due him as far as musicianship goes, maybe I'm wrong on this assessment but it's good to hear many of you can see the light. Thanks again.
  • Count me in.  Funny how Knopfler's name keeps reappearing in various posts as of late.  There are so many Straits songs that are my favorite, it's impossible to list them all. Motie's Tunnel of Love is definitely one of them.  Private Investigations.  You and Your Friend.  Skateaway.  Romeo and Juliet.  Telegraph Road.  Fade to Black.  The list goes on.
  • Thanks for the comments, sounds like we have our own little fan club. Its really amazing when I posted questions other than tobacco related the amount of feedback I've gotten.I always think nobody will be interested, and then wow.I am consistently wrong.Thank you to everyone.
  • PappyJoe I'm with you,On Kill to Get Crimson I have True Love Will Never Fade,We Can Get Wild, and Behind With The Rent.On Get Lucky I have You can't Beat The House,Cleaning My Gun, and.my personal favorite Remembrance Day.Just a small sample. As far as.the artist you named  I'm not familiar with him,I will explore however.
