Historical D-Day film with a pipe smoker in it.

Just came across this and while it's about the D-Day invasion, it highlights the difference in how pipe smokers were treated back then as opposed to current day. Do you think any military documentary may today would include someone smoking? The first instance of pipe smoking is around the 4:44 mark and again in the last 45 seconds or so.
