Anyone Ever Smoke A Sea Shell Pipe?

I've just been scanning a link to some EBAY pipes provided by @Motie2 and I noticed several vendors selling pipes made of a variety of natural sea shells. I was curious if any of our members ... especially those in the Navy or Coast Guard ... "Captain PappyJoe report to the bridge." have ever smoked tobacco from a sea shell pipe.
Based on the configuration of the shells in the pictures shown I can see how it would be highly possible to use the chamber for filling your tobacco. In some respect it might be similar to smoking a clay pipe, but seems to me the heat would really be a problem. Since sea shells are pretty thin the transfer of heat would make it too hot to hold.

I did have a really nice pipe one of our crew made from deer antler with a copper stem and bone mouthpiece. It smoked cool and looked cool. I had it for about 2 years and then someone stole it from my rack. (That's bunk for you land-lubbers.)
@PappyJpe The link is in the discussion Pipes that are too expensive to smoke. Here are a few pictures of sea shell pipes for sale.
