I lived in Chicago for about 12 years but didn't smoke a pipe then. Never even heard of Iwan Ries then. Now I'm delighted to discover it online. SO, what are your favorite Iwan Ries house blends?

I have 3 IRC house pipes. I have explored some of their house blends,but none has jumped into my rotation as yet. Banner Light and Royale are pretty darned decent aros; BL might well crack my rotation if I smoked more aros.

Iwan Ries makes one of my favorite flake tobaccos: IRC Slices. If you are in to Virginias with a dash of Perique you should check it out. I also own one of their house pipes, it was a Savinelli commission. It is an excellent pipe, smokes like a dream.

I've yet to visit Iwan Ries, but I hope to visit there sometime while I still live in Chicago. I've only heard good things about their store.

@Mseddon, VaPers are my absolute favorite! I know this is completely off topic of Iwan Ries.... However, if you love VaPers you have got to try McClelland 2015, it is delicious.

Back in the day, we found Escudo (then, Cope's Escudo) to be the VaPer standard.

I get to IRC once or twice a year and I enjoy hanging out in the lounge. Tobacco is shockingly expensive when you add the city tobacco tax.

Still like 3 star blue first thing I ever smoked, that was 43 years ago. I still frequent  their store, it's so cool no big changes and meeting 3 generations or the family.
