@PappyJoe last Christmas I got one of the Peterson Watson Christmas pipes. Your definitely right, it takes a long time to get through a bowl with it. I'm not sure I have ever finished an entire bowl with it, smokes nice I just wish it was a P-lip.
@RockyMountainBriar I didn't realize exactly how big it was until it arrived. I do like the Mycroft and the Hudson. At some point I wouldn't mind snagging one of those.
I have the “Mycroft” shape in a “Kinsale” line pipe. It’s a big pipe too. I have the ”Deerstalker” and “Squire” shapes in the “Kinsale” line as well. The “Squire”, big bent bulldog is a great smoker, it’s like a monster 80s. My 80s smokes better now, but still nowhere as well as that big Squire” shape.
@Zouave It’s not the first time on special Peterson releases. I got my SPD 2023 Smooth 53👍🏻 I was logged in, pipe in cart, and had it paid for, 4 minutes before I got the SPC ‘head’s up’ email. I went back to look at some of my runner up smooth shapes when I could get on, and I did not get to even see several of them. Nothing but rustics left now.
@RockyMountainBriar they have about 9 pages of rustics left on there. I didn't even see the smooths or the sandblasted ones, and sandblasting is the one thing Peterson does great. I did see a smooth on ebay but it was pricey. Guess I'll just save my cash for more Rattrays.
My Pete Geek mug arrived today👍🏻. I have several Deneen Pottery mugs, very solid, American made mugs, they hold temp pretty well, not as well as my Ember mugs, but for “analog” mugs, they are da bomb! This one is a 14 oz., my others are 10-12oz..
I just noticed, it’s amazing at how close the pattern on mine is to the one that @motie2 posted. They are not identical, but oh so close🤔
@RockyMountainBriar I was wondering who made the mugs. The name on mine was glazed over and I couldn't make it out. I can read the "dishwasher and microwave" but don't know if the mugs are safe to use in those.
@RockyMountainBriar I didn't realize that they were made by deneen potery. I have two mugs at home I got while on vacation that looked similar, I went and looked at the bottom and same company! Your right, they are great mugs. I would love to have mugs made with a family crest or some sort of other logo on them for the house but I'm sure it would be way too expensive
SWMBO, who was a potter for a couple of decades, says what you describe should be relatively easy for any experienced pot thrower. I suggest you look for a potter and make inquiries.
@motie2 it would be nice, but for now all the funds seem to go directly to kid stuff. Perhaps I will circle back to it at another stage of life. By then I can take up pottery I'm my retirement.

We've been watching a reality show from England name "The Great Pottery Throwdown" Each season has 10 contestants who are trying to be the Top Potter for the season. Watching what they do is fascinating and definitely not scripted like some reality shows are.
I now understand why some handmade ceramic pottery sell for high prices.
@PappyJoe I didn't realize it at the time, but the opportunity I had when I was attending and then teaching at the School of American Craftsmen was very unique and amazing. I had the ability to see metalsmithing, ceramics, glass blowing and woodworking all in the same facility. I regret not trying more work in the various mediums. Now that I don't have access to that type of creative environment, I can see what a unique experience it was. Also, glad to see the storm didn't go to rough on you.
@RockyMountainBriar I saw that reder stemmed one on smoking pipes. I love the look of it, but I'm trying to hold out until I find a Pete 314. There were some real nice looking ones on tobacco pipes.

Yep, safe in Dishwasher, Microwave, Freezer, Oven, but avoid going from one extreme to another, such as freezer to oven, or vise-versa.
