My Dad was an avid pipe smoker. I always thought it was neat "my Daddy smokes a pipe." I started in my early teens, he found out and said "I don't care." Every time I light up, esp, one of his pipes, I can feel his "aura". He passed away when I was 15 in 1981. Pipe smoking has always eased the loss.

that's a beautiful story, do you still have his pipes? my dad is a cigar smoker, but he does have a pipe and when we smoke it makes us talk about the most deepest thoughts imaginable. I hope one day I can pass my pipes to my sons, even if they do not smoke, the will know the symbolizim behind the pipes.

When I was seven or eight years old my great grandfather smoked pipes. I remember that everytime we would visit him he would ask me to pick out a pipe from his rack. Now that I'm old and have a couple of little girls, they get the biggest kick out of me asking them to pick out a pipe for me to smoke. I guess traditions keep our ancestors alive and with us.

My grandfather however, was a hell of a man and was a pipe smoker and my pipe smoking mentor if you will. So many fond memories

My father had one pipe. He never smoked it. He smoked four packs of Camels a day until they took out a lung, and then he switched to cigars. Died at 79 of Alzheimer's and pneumonia.

My son goes with me to our pipe club meetings. He basically only smokes there and smokes Captain Black. He has stated that he only does this to spend time with me.
