@KA9FFJ That's fantastic! Happy birthday/anniversary and many more! I can just about remember my own name, so the chances of me remembering when I first smoked a pipe and what I smoked years from now are very slim.

Don't remember the exact date but it was in August 1972, in the middle of an ice field in the Bering Sea. Don't remember what the pipe was but the tobacco was Borkum Riff Whiskey.

@KA9FFJ Happy Birthday, my friend. And hopefully many more years to come. I'm not too far behind you in age. This June 23th. I'll be 68. I hate the years that end in a zero, so you can imagine I'm not looking forward to that landmark. But I'm no longer dreading the day as I did when 40, 50, and 60 came along. because now I cherish each new year I can add to my total. And I'm not ready for the tally to come to an abrupt end just yet.

Thanks all for all the well-wishes. As I've indicated already, on my 20th birthday, I was away from home, so I decided to buy myself a pipe (an old Kaywoodie, which unfortunately was broken while in the USMC) and a pouch of tobacco (Amphora Red). I also remember enjoying Flying Dutchman as well. It was love at first light-up, and the rest is history.
What a great hobby this has been for me... Not to mention the friends of like-interest I have met through the years ( yes, that includes you guys...)

@ghostsofpompeii Thanks for asking. I received a 5 oz bag of Sutliff Black Cherry and a 5 oz bag of Sutliff Sunset Rum (actually a couple of days early in the mail). My son sent me a $25 gift card for P&C, and my wife gave me a $50 card to spend at a local music store. I'll probably get some new guitar strings and a new capo, etc...

@KA9FFJ Belated Happy Birthday and Anniverary. I've been unavailable for a few days, and maybe going to be gone a few more. I'm like @motie2 in that I only use my PC, my Notebook has lost the Magic Smoke from it's innards and I don't use my Phone to avoid being totally involved all day online.
