I was jealous of all the pipes @thebadgerpiper got, so now I’m online window shopping. I am interested in something a bit large like one of these Macs or a Bent General.

This could very well help me solve the whole, “I have 10 pounds of tobacco” thing. Hahahahahahaha.

The final decision, Great Dane Spool. I like the angle of the stem.

  • The Great Dane Spool is a solid choice for a larger cob. I got to see Missouri Meerschaum's line up in person, so I have a better idea of how big their pipes are. That's a good one, as is the Patriot, Freehand, and the General. As neat as the MacArthur pipe is, I'm not sure if I'd smoke one, unless I didn't want to feel the inside of my mouth by the time the pipe was finished.

Though I suppose you could load up the pipe with the tobacco you were planning to smoke in different pipes, and layer them together like Neapolitan ice cream.
  • I picked up the MM Freehand a few years ago.  It was a bit pricey for a cob but it makes for a long, cool and dry smoke. You can't go wrong with any MM, IMHO.
