TBS (Tobacco Buying Syndrom). Went to local tobacco shop to try and get some 965. They focus on cigars so wasn't sure if they'd have any. I have plenty of various blends already but based on recommendations in TPL I wanted some 965. Well I got a tin plus more. TBS hit me though and I got more. All new to me.

@Woodsman is TAD the correct medical term for the condition? I wasn't sure so made one up. I can see a tobacco themed episode of Horders in my future.

Maybe I need TAD anonymous= a gathering where members sit around and smoke pipes and discuss which blends they have collected. Not looking for a cure.

@Bentbrier - There are two conditions you have to be aware of: PAD (Pipe Acquisition Disorder) and TAD (Tobacco Acquisition Disorder).
Some of us are fortunate to belong to pipe clubs where we not only sit around and smoke pipes but we bring tobacco to share. As for remaining anonymous, we actively advertise our meetings and recruit new members.

@PappyJoe thanks I think I have both. Although I did thin my pipe collection a few years ago it is once again building. I do have a local shop that has a pipe gathering early Saturday mornings. Not really a club as they don't really have "meetings" and everyone that walks into the shop is welcome. There are about five regulars and they always bring plenty of tobacco to share.

@Bentbrier That’s sort of how the New Orleans Pipe Club started, just 5 or 6 guys getting together. A year ago we were averaging 8 or 9 guys a meeting and then we decided to formalize the club. We now have 28 paid members and average 17 smokers at the monthly meeting.

Ghostsofpompeii is right, a majority of the members here are TAD as well as PAD. I'm also BAD (Book Acquisition Disorder) since I was 14-yrs old.

@Charles I too have BAD. Reminds me of an old tobacco shop I used to order from "With Pipe and Book". It just a great combination.

Spent some time at the local shop. Pipes and bs were had. My conditions kicked in.

@Kmhartle it is a Mark Thompkins. Local Colorado Carver. I think he only sells at my local shop. They usually have 3 to 4 in stock. This one is very similar to another I have by him. Smokes great and always draws comments.

@Woodsman -- Yes, sir. Interesting that the guy doesn't know what's in his hand......

@Bentbrier -- At least I got the exact same pipe, but a sandblast, for under $20.00 about a week ago.
