  Dunhill Early Morning and black coffee usually works for me.  I do smoke other tobaccos as well but Early Morning is my go to, especially on the weekends.

  I like an aromatic that is kinda neutral,for instance Captain Black Royal and maybe a stronger aromatic as the day proceeds.

  My go to for early morning is EMP.  But do try others occasionally too.  May have to try some of the ones mentioned here in fact.

  Power of suggestion?    I agree that EMP is a great morning pipeful, but so is any blend you really like (except maybe Nightcap or another nicotine bomb). I think the name Early Morning Pipe is responsible for so many folks liking it "for breakfast."
  
  If I'm off-base, what about the blend's component tobaccos makes it appropriate for an early morning smoke?

  Yesterday I had a bowl of Kajun Kake in the morning, along with some black coffee. That combo of a medium to dark roast coffee with a Perique heavy blend is dynamite. Just do yourself a favor and eat breakfast first.
