OTC Blends stay lit really well... Why?

Why is it that over the counter (codger) blends tend to stay lit so well? I’ve noticed that my Captain Black, Prince Albert, Carter Hall all stay lit better than most of my premium blends. Do they contain additives like cigarettes?

I think Jayhawk has probably hit the nail on the head when he identified the burley. Another contributing factor, is that almost all the widely available OTC blends are shag cuts, or ribbon cuts, which allow the pipe smoker to get them going easily using minimal charring lights.
My oldest memory concerning pipe tobacco was with Prince Albert long before I was of legal age to smoke. At least once a week, I would ring the phone at the local Standard Oil station about a quarter mile up the road from where we lived, and ask to speak to Mr. Bentley the owner. I would inquire if he had Prince Albert in a can. When he replied that he did, he always patiently waited to hear me tell him to let him out before he suffocates. The man never once got frustrated and hung up on me.
When my dad and I would stop to get gas and some hoop cheese and crackers, every time I looked at him, he would already be looking at me, and he was always grinning. I never knew for sure, if he knew for sure, that it was me calling about the Prince Albert.
