Cheaper Tobacco

Gents I have a question? Admittingly I have not smoked cheaper value sized Tobbaco in a while,but when I see Smokers pride and Super Value Pipe Tobacco makes me wonder if this is decent Tobbaco? Has anyone have an insight to this, Am I wrong or right or just or in between?

If my memory is right, Smokers pride is made by Lane. I've picked up their Black Cavendish and jarred it up. Good stuff, just had a bowl lastnight.

@buflosab Personal opinion: Super Value has some decent blends, but it is rather "goopy". I usually have to let a bowl full air out for a couple of days before igniting. I actually like Virginia Gold as a cheap blend (cheaper than Super Value), and not as wet.
That's my 2 cents...

OK,thanks man.You are right Smokers Pride is a Lane product. Thank you for the reply. Just trying to get some opinions so I can decide if I want to spend money on these blends.

@buflosab My humble suggestion is to give Virginia Gold Black Cavendish a try. It's a decent blend and can be used to blend with other brands. I have used it as a 50/50 blend with some aros that I didn't care for and it improved the overall smoke, at least for me...

I have smoked smokers pride black cavendish and ended up using it in the english blends I have made it worked out well for blending as for the others I have thought about giving them a go so I am intrigued to see some of the reviews posted here.

My humble suggestion is to smoke the good stuff. You'll get a lot more out of it.

My only draw back with these blends is that I like to age my tobacco and I do not think that Aro's age very well. At least in my personal experience. So I would guess that if you are going to get some of these cheaper bulk value blends it would be good for the present and then if you do get the "good stuff" you could save / age that for later enjoyment. My 2 cents.

I've smoked the Smokers Pride Cavendish and Black Cavendish they are decent but have a large amount of humectant which makes them hard to dry.
