  Since I'm pretty much an aromatic smoker the only type of tobacco I've had much experience with is the flake and ribbon. Even when I went to Tinder Box I don't think I ever saw house blends that were pressed into blocks of tobacco, coins, rope, or pieces that look like beef jerky. It wasn't until I got involved with the Pipe Community that I discovered the various cuts of tobacco there were. Seems like a lot of extra work chipping away at a block of tobacco to fill your pipe.

  In small narrow bowls I have found I like flake, either broken or folded, and shag cut tobaccos.

  I vote for the flakes also. I have three pipes with tall, narrow bowls and that's all I smoke in them.

  Re-discovered a good one today.  Country Squire's Green Dragon and my small churchwarden.  The sweet Virginias really came through. WONDERFUL!

  @mfresa For my small bowled pipes, I enjoy cube cut burley it fills the bowl pretty good and since small bowls don't seem to do well with a blend that has a lot of components the simple cube cut works great. BTW that is an awesome looking cutty/churchwarden.

  @piperdave, thanks.  Smokingpipes.com has two more of them for sale $70 each.  Personally I'm trying to get used to burley, not there yet, but I will look into the cube cut.  Thanks for the tip.
